First Atlantic is a community-oriented financial institution with over 75 years of history. We are dedicated to providing our neighbors in Monmouth and Ocean counties with a full range of banking services and knowledgeable guidance on making the most of their money. We're here for our members 24 hours a day, seven days a week--in person, online, or by phone.

Founded in 1935, First Atlantic is one of New Jersey's largest credit unions. A credit union is a not-for-profit institution that is owned by the people that use its services. These people are not called customers; they are members. Any person who lives, works, attends school or worships in Monmouth or Ocean county may become a
First Atlantic member.

What makes First Atlantic different from a commercial bank is our focus on providing optimal personalized service to our members. Here's how we do that:

Financial Services for You. Most banks only want to deal with people or transactions that are profitable to the bank. Because First Atlantic is not-for-profit and member owned, we work with our members to meet any financial needs they have. We provide banking deposit services and loan types that are the best solution for our member's needs and personal financial situation, rather than try to sell the products that are most profitable for us.

We give back! First Atlantic is a not for profit organization, meaning we do not pay shareholders and our board of directors are volunteers. That means the profits First Atlantic makes are reinvested into the credit union.

Ownership. Every member of First Atlantic is an owner who owns one share in First Atlantic, as long as a minimum of $5 is maintained in a checking or savings account. Every member has a stake in how First Atlantic is run and is entitled to one vote at our annual meeting.

Lifetime Membership. Once you become a member, you are a member for life as long as a minimum of $5 is maintained in a checking or savings account.

First Atlantic is headquartered in Eatontown, New Jersey, with service centers in Eatontown, Neptune, Oceanport, and Toms River.
